Pre-Mixed & Ready To Use Mix

Use The Proper Mix For Great Plants

Happy Plants

Beautiful Display For Cactus & Succulents

Succulent & Cacti Air To Roots

Fast Draining Premium Blend

Succulents and cacti are water-wise plants that store water in their leaves, stems or roots, creating a succulent appearance. While they are low maintenance, it’s still important to give them the proper care in order for them to grow and live. These plants like soil that is well-aerated and fast-draining, qualities you will find in this premium mixture from Superfly Bonsai.

Beautiful Display

Succulents are designed to withstand extreme environments, so regular potting soil won’t do. When you bring that healthy plant home or have one that needs some reviving, replant that succulent using this Superfly Bonsai Soil Mix. A perfect addition to window sills, office desks, and end tables, your freshly planted succulents will add color and texture to liven up any interior space.

Pre-Mixed Soil

Specifically formulated to promote healthy succulents and cacti, this dirt-free, ready-touse mix is composed of ¼ Hard Japanese Akadama, ¼ USA Pumice, ¼ New Zealand Pine Bark and ¼ Haydite. These components promotes excellent drainage and water retention, keeping succulent and cacti happy, healthy and vital.

Use The Proper Mix

Watch Your Plants Flourish - Use The Proper Mix

From Cactus and Aloe, to Echeveria and Rosette, succulents are some of the most trendiest plants around. Plus, they're easy to grow indoors and out – especially when you’re using the right soil mix to help them flourish. Offering the proper drainage and water retention that succulents need in order to survive and thrive, Superfly Bonsai’s Succulent & Cactus Soil Mix is the way to go.

Happy Plants

Happy Plants

Most succulents and cacti do not like dirt, and will usually die if left in dirt over long periods of time. When watered, this soil stays wet for just the right amount of time before drying, making it perfect for most types of succulents and cacti. The components promote air to the root system which makes roots happy. And since happy roots = happy plants, your plants will thrive.

Size Options

Fast Draining Blend

Depending on your planting needs, this Succulent & Cactus Soil Mix from Superfly Bonsai is available in four different sizes. Select among 1.25, 2.5, 6 and 12-quart sizes to provide the best drainage, water and nutrient retention, and air circulation possible to promote healthy succulents and cacti. Your plants will love it and so will you.

Pretty soil with drainage - but does it work? the jury is still out...
UPDATE: YES & NO...The rest of my non succulent, bonsai plants that had this soil in the mix, died. I know now that it is the soil. This soil is excellent for what it is intended for "succulent and cactus" and bonsais. All these plants are thriving with this soil. DO NOT use this soil as a medium to mix with other soils for other types of plants. They will die. My lemon tree, my hardy Chicago fig trees, angel vines, monstera obliqua and monstera adansonii, umbrella plant (and more) died within a week's time when mixed with this soil. I obviously altered my watering to reflect a more water repellant soil (have a moisture reader), but it still did not work (don't know why since I've used other cacti soils for the mix at the same time and those plants are growing and look fine). This soil may contain one ingredient that just doesn't work for these other types of plants. My plants that are thriving in this soil are: ric rac cactus, bonsais, and succulents love this stuff. My poor 7' foot fiddle leaf fig tree is holding for it's dear old life (lost many leaves since adding this soil to the mix). I hope it makes it because this tree was expensive.Old review:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I bought already about $100 worth of this soil. I added it to my bonsais, 7' ficus lyrata (fiddle leaf fig tree), and some of my other plants (as a medium to help minimize water retention mixed with organic soil). 4 of my plants died (can't really say it was the soil - it could have been from another source; the ficus lyrata is not doing so great but there are also fungus gnats (from the other 4 plants that were near it that died and I already threw out) and I'm almost certain that this soil is not the cause of it. However I did have a healthy pink lemon tree and now the tree lost so many leaves (~10 leaves) in a week's time since I added this soil to the mix, hoping that it would provide proper drainage when mixed with organic soil (which I nuked before mixing to clear out of any pests/fungus issues). It doesn't seem to be working and somehow it is attracting pests which didn't have before (pink lemon trees tend not to attract pests). I may just add more organic soil to the mix, perhaps I added too much of this soil for this type of plant. Just FYI, I am not a botanist nor work in a nursery, but I have been commended by everyone who knows me for my green thumb. I've always had plants since very young, and now have decades of experience growing all kinds of plants.Since I'm still uncertain of how this soil performs, I'm only rating it a 4 (fair) and bought another 6 quartz bag of this soil to continue testing. I appreciate that I can clearly see the ingredients unlike the commercial mixes, e.g. miracle grow that after planting you later find fungus growing or some other issues because their soil was compromised at some point before getting it home. This soil seems pretty clean & well packaged. (see pics: 2 months ago FLF before soil was changed, pic 3. lemon tree a week ago after soil change and after it started dropping leaves and the last two pics is of FLF and lemon tree today (after soil was changed).

Overall very happy with the quality of product and service, and will come back to buy more when i need it.

I'm still a gardening noob so I can't say for sure if it's the soil since I don't have a real scientific setup. I have different combinations of plants in large planters so maybe it's a good combo with the right amount of sunlight and water, but the succulents I have in the planter with this soil are thriving. A few plants have doubled in size in a short time, and all are sprouting new growths. Will buy more.

I have like 30 succulents and they all go in this mix. It’s pretty fast draining, so you have to water your plants a bit more often than you’d expect. But I haven’t had any issues with root rot and they all seem to be happy in it. Can’t see myself ever using another succulent soil.
Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2020
I bought this to re-pot a fiddle-leaf fig I bought here on Amazon. It was a cutting rooted in peat which is the worst medium for fiddle-leaf figs as it will hold water and rot the roots. (The new leaves were dotted with pin-point sized brown dots - the fig’s communication that it’s roots are water-logged.) So I put it in a slightly bigger pot after breaking away the peat from the root ball and used this WONDERFUL potting mix for succulents and cacti!! (I added about a half cup of potting soil and mixed it well before situating the fig in its new home.) I watered it and watched it all come out the bottom like it’s supposed to. I had noticeable new growth on the unfolding new leaf at the top of the plant by the end of the next day! This stuff is perfect for any plant that needs a quick draining medium. Very happy with it and will order more for my other cacti and succulents that need repotting.

I've kept cacti and succulents for years, and I can tell you that just about every "fast draining potting mix" is just normal, small particle potting mix with 5% more perlite in it. This is the only stuff I've ever seen that is actually fast draining without requiring me to make my own mix. It's really jarring to feel like you're planting your succulent in rocks, but my succulents are still doing well after six months. If you've got a plant that needs really dry roots and not a lot of nutrients, do yourself a favor and buy this. It's expensive but so is doing trial and error with 15 different bags of "fast draining" soil. You can always toss a handful of soil in with this if feeling like planting your succulent in rocks is too counterintuitive; it'll still drain pretty well.

Ok so I just received the cactus soil and so this review is purely just on first impression of the product and is not with regards to actually using it. Both packages arrived today but one looks super fresh and vacuum sealed and the other looks old,
and has air in the bag... like it has been sitting around for a while..a long while(see pictures of the two packages). I don't know if this affects the overall funtionality of the product or not. They appear to be from same seller so I can't say buy it from this guy and not that one. I'll update this review after I use the product for a while but first impression is that it lacks a little consistency with regards to quality.
